Continuing with the thinkexist.com quote mining. If Falwell had a partner in idiocy it very well might have been Pat Robertson.

The following quotes are from just the first page of quotes attributed to him on thinkexist.com:
  • “Feminism is a socialist, anti-family, political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.”
  • “It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-biased media and the homosexuals who want to destroy all Christians”
  • “Many of those people involved in Adolf Hitler were Satanists, many were homosexuals - the two things seem to go together”
  • “How can there be peace when drunkards, drug dealers, communists, atheists, New Age worshipers of Satan, secular humanists, oppressive dictators, greedy money changers, revolutionary assassins, adulterers, and homosexuals are on top?”
  • “...There is no such thing as ... separation of state and church ... in the Constitution. It's a lie of the left.”
  • “That (separation of church and state) was never in the Constitution, however much the liberals laugh at me for saying it, they know good and well it was never in the Constitution! Such language only appeared in the constitution of the communist Sovi”
  • “I know one man who was impotent who gave AIDS to his wife and the only thing they did was kiss”
  • “I heard Satan say, "Jesus is playing you for a sucker”
  • “(Regarding his prayers to keep Hurricane Gloria away from Virginia Beach) It was 'extremely important because I felt that if I couldn't move a hurricane, I could hardly move a nation”
  • “Communism was the brain-child of German-Jewish intellectuals”

Just posted this as my status on Facebook (guess what book I'm currently reading, he he):

JWG's Facebook status wrote:Thank God for sinners: "There is another
form of temptation, even more fraught with danger. This is the disease
of curiosity. It is this which drives us to try and discover the
secrets of nature, those secrets which are beyond our understanding,
which can avail us nothing and which man should not wish to learn." -
...Saint Augustine. 0_o

Just got a text from a Christian friend:

"Sinners are nicht so gut"

My reply:

"If I'm to go by St. Augustine's view of sin, then I'll take the route of sin anyday lol. Damn sinners making medical breakthroughs and understanding nature and reality: evil fuckers."

:naughty2:

Hail Satan...
Question marks may be at the end of sentences; but in life they are the introduction.

Ok, I know what Pangaea is, and I know what the Fallacy Of Composition is, but I still don't get the reference. Can someone enlighten me?

Maybe, just for me, something more does need to be said...

I actually got a mention!
Do not seek the truth, only cease to cherish your opinions.

I heard something many years ago in my youth, a time when I considered myself a believer, but I cannot remember the source. Back then it didn't make sense to me like it does today.

An elder of my former church wrote:You probably do not want to try to witness to atheists; they know the bible better than we do.

I took it with a grain of salt at the time; then it seemed like anyone that really knew the bible would be a believer; today it seems like the reverse is true. My memory may be faulty, they may have said 'Satanists' instead of 'atheists'; but for most Christians I knew, 'Satanist' was a term that they loosely attributed to every person who was not in the church.

In high school Sunday school class, I learned that one of the reasons that we should avoid rock music (even Christian rock music) is that any music that beats faster than your own heartbeat will inflame you to lust, anger, and other unhealthy passions.

Even then, as an earnest young fundamentalist, that sounded a little implausible, and I wondered how the "William Tell Overture," for example, fit into that theory.

My heart rate is 52 bpm at rest, so I guess that rules out almost all music for me...

I was in a car with my god believing friend who isn't religion affiliated but has a personal truth apparently, anyways. I was driving then my favourite Guns & Roses song came on Knockin on heavens door. My friend said I quote '' You must know in your heart their is a god because you are singing the words to this song?'' I pretty much was shocked with a wtf look on my face.

I just said, '' If you let me, I can show a nice place in london were you can get the same inspiration to create a song like that.'' He said '' How can you do that?''. I said '' Easy I'll take you to the drug heart of london and you can pick your pills and puff, I garantee you that you will see a God figure raining down his love for you, in your delusional state until you wake up and see a dog pissing in your face.''
''Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.'' - Smart Person at some time.

Its strange he just laughed with a moments thought. He keeps his faith to himself but likes a debate like I do, so we seem to troll each other from time to time to get our miltant ways out LOL.(sorry that line sounds like a read between the lines gay relationship  )

In the last few months he has questioned things more, maybe my ways are affecting him because he said you seem to live a much more peaceful life without god then I do. I think he is getting sick of constantly having to think I am going to hell and prefer not to give a shit.

Sorry for a long answer.

From two JWs who came a-knockin at my door one day:

"You never really need a blood transfusion anyway. There are other ways that the doctors don't tell you about."

"We don't eat black pudding, because that is composed of life's blood. Meat is fine, though."

And perhaps most shocking of all, after I had shown them a book detailing the numerous failed end-of-the-world-and-all-that predictions of the Watchtower Movement:

"Well, you can't believe everything you read, you know!"
