I think that's because they (dogs) keep the angels away. We've nearly always had dogs about and I've never seen an angel, so there could be something in that.

I have a "Green Man" one, it seems to repel Jehovah's witnesses and the like.

I really like the Green Man knocker, I think I'll order one. We've already got an Om symbol on the front door, a stone Buddha head on the front porch and a gargoyle door stop. Seems to keep the Jehovahs at bay, but adding a Green Man couldn't hurt.

Or maybe it's the "Come Back With a Warrant" door mat, the pickup, the pit bulls and the multiple NRA stickers. Who knows?

So my 14yr old son gets a letter today ... it's not like he get's much post ... it's handwritten and it's obvious that it's got a CD/DVD inside it, so when I collect my son he gets quite excited about what it might be.

Imagine his disappointment when it turns out to be some anonymous proselytising literature for Islam which he just drops into the bin.

On retrieving the crap myself I see that the writing is this, a personal testimony of how wonderful it was to convert to Islam. The DVD is called "New Muslims Interviewed", again featuring personal testimonies of how wonderful it was to convert to Islam.

The envelope was addressed to my son using his informal name, so I'm guessing it's from somebody that knows him at school. If this is deliberate targeting of young teenagers then it's quite despicable. If they want their religion to seem more like the cult that it is, then they are doing a good job.

I think I might be having a word with someone at his school.

I can't really imagine that they will be interested, but I have asked my son to ask his friends if they've received any of the religious pornography.
