Fuck U2, this is by far the best Irish band EVER.

Think I'll just fall to pieces
If I don't find something else to do
This sadness never ceases
I'm still in love with you

My head, it keeps on reeling
It's got me in a crazy spin
Darling, darling, darling
Is this the end?

Still in love with you

They say time has a way of healing
Dries all the tears from your eyes
But darling it's this empty feeling
My heart can't disguise

After all that we've been through
I try my best but it's no use
I guess I'll keep on loving you
Is this the end?

Now that it's all over, woman
There's something I think you should know
Baby, baby, think it over
Just one more time before you go

Call on me baby
If there's anything I can do for you
Call on me baby
Help me see it through

I'm still in love with you

More Irish ;)

He said 'I wanna shine in the eye of Orion
But I drove my soul through the Black Hole!'
She said 'What a wonderful way to wake me
You weren't so nice last night
You're such an asshole when you're drunk'
He said 'At least I'm OK in the mornings'

He said 'The three wise men came a long way
Following that pin hole in the sky
Yeah that one right there'
She said 'I don't believe in any old Jesus
If there was a God, then why is my arse
The perfect height of kicking?'

He said 'I'll shine for you, I'll burn for you
Yea I'll shine for you, that's what I'll do'

He said 'They're like headlights
In the rear view mirror
They're closer that they seem
And from this gutter we're still staring at the stars'
She said 'Would ya go away and shite
Last night all you did was curse those stars
You said they sang to you of hope'

He said 'The sun gives life, and it takes it away
But like all the greats, it'll burn out someday'
She said 'I don't mind, I don't want to get bored
I don't want to end up beached on this shore
I want to be that star'

And then I'll shine for you. Then I'll burn for you.
Then I can shine for you. That's what I'll do.

Two of my favourite, most beautiful songs I know... If any songs could make me cry it'd be these

Wake.. from your sleep
The drying of your tears
Today we escape, we escape

Pack.. and get dressed
Before your father hears us
Before all hell breaks loose

Breathe, keep breathing
Don't lose your nerve
Breathe, keep breathing
I can't do this alone

Sing.. us a song
A song to keep us warm
There's such a chill, such a chill

You can laugh
A spineless laugh
We hope your rules and wisdom choke you
Now we are one in everlasting peace

We hope that you choke, that you choke
We hope that you choke, that you choke
We hope that you choke, that you choke

It's over
You don't need to tell me
I hope you're with someone who makes you
feel safe in your sleeping tonight
I won't kill myself, trying to stay in your life
I got no distance left to run

When you see me
Turn your back and walk away
I don't want to see you
Cos i know the dreams that you keep is where we meet
When your coming down, think of me here
I got no distance left to run

It's over, I knew it would end this way
I hope you're with someone who makes you feel
That this life is alive
I hope stays around, spends more time at home with you
I got no distance left to run

It's over, no more
"So we're just done with phrasing?"

Morien's digging up of Aphrodite's Child reminded me of My Face In The Rain, from Vangelis' first album:

I've been forced to hear that song constantly, because here in Canada it's always on the radio when I'm driving! After hearing it a million times it finally became catchy.
“I can see the bright green strip of grass beneath the wall, and the clear blue sky above the wall and sunlight everywhere. Life is beautiful. Let the future generations cleanse it of all evil, oppression and violence, and enjoy it to the full.” - Trotsky

I remember a song from 1974 called 'Sad Sunday' by a band called Blue (not the boy band, the members of which weren't even born then). I heard it on a promo floppy disk given away with NME or Sounds, and although I really liked it, I never bought the album that it was on.

There's no youtube clip that I can find :waah: I can only find a short excerpt of it on their website which doesn't do it justice. Anyway as the title suggests, it's a Sad Song, and I thought it was quite a good one.

Indeed. No Reason To Cry is one of my favourite albums, brings back memories of the summer of 1976.

For me, none of his 80s albums quite matched the consistency and quality of the 461 Ocean Boulevard to Slowhand era, that is until 1989, and Journeyman which gave us this track ..

Wow! I love Eric Clapton. I lived in New York City when his son fell out the window and died. My son at that time was about 7,or 8 months old. I cried and had nightmares for days. :( :( :(

Richard Manuel's voice on this, a sad man with an unhappy and ultimately tragically short life, gets me going every time :whine:
