I know that most of us are from RDF, rationalia, etc., but I'm also interested to see if anyone found us through different means.

I'm one of the refugees from RDF. :drunk:

How about adding a poll to this question? ;)

LIFE recruited me on that fateful first day into his sadistic posse. Ever since then I've been pulling in survivors.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention how I found out about it.

I went to RDF, and I couldn't post. I asked one of the mods that I have on facebook what was going on... or they told me... I forget which... what happened, and they gave me a link to Peter Harrison's blog.
While I was posting in the comment section, somone informed me of rationalia (I think this was before this one was set up.). I started posting there, then found out that this site was set up to take the pressure off of rationalia. At 1st, it looked like people already got comfortable, but then the site grew, and my visiting/posting frequency grew.

+1. I saw LIFE's post on Rationalia and came straight over and signed up. I think I was 6th to join.

Ditto. Became #69 to join (or #68, if the dna42 test account isn't counted, which makes you #5 in that case, Nora).

I moved to China from the states, checked RD.net and had 7 messages telling me to join here. It sort of freaked me out to be "caught up" as to what took place at RD.net, but I like it here just fine!

 I wondered about that. Actually, I would have been 2nd or 3rd if I hadn't taken the time to email Simon Gardner about it first. So he got in before me!

Still, it was wonderful then to watch all these familiar names come trickling back...

I saw hack's avatar while I was hunting around RDF trying to figure out what the heck was going on. Took me a few days to get caught up, then came over here and signed up. I'm happy to see so many familar faces (names?) too!!

Thanks, Life, for setting this up so quickly to take everyone in after the explosion over there!!

I voted "Other". I found the site through an article on Richard Dawkins' closing of the fora for tighter moderation. In the comments section there was a post saying that most of the members were moving over to www.rationalskepticism.org, and so here I am.

Wow, I can't believe that happened on the Richard Dawkins forum. That would be the LAST place I would ever think something like that would happen. I only had 30 posts or so, but I was making friends and I enjoyed visiting. Then one day I showed up and no one was home.

Glad to be here, though! :D
