It's not me, it's the Scandinavians ;)

I'm making a BIG effort to go dry for at least a jolly good while from tomorrow, as it happens, and yes I am a pathetic snivelling rotten irresponsible selfish failure for being a slave to this inebriating indulgence....wouldn't it be some kind of equally distasteful antithesis of hypocrisy if I didn't cast the odd aspersion on globe trotting jollies given the current (NPI) climate?

I have no idea what you are on about at the end there, but my point is shaming people for their behaviour – especially reasonable behaviour given the circumstances – tends to not have the desired effect.

It's not as if these folks are actually going to achieve their stated aims. But they're sure gonna have fun shunting around on a new Reformist trip. This time, they're REALLY gonna save humanity. Really-o and truly-o.

You know this world is just one big trouble spot
Because some have plenty and some have not
You know I used to be trouble, but i finally saw the light
Now I don't worry 'bout a thing 'cause I know nothin's gonna be all right.

I get it fellto - you travel for work when you feel you have to, and such flying is furthest from the KIR imaginary guillotine RE air travel, so peace really.

LIke Whitey Morgan says, if I'm goin' down tonight I'm goin' down drinkin.

The problem with "shaming" is it doesn't work. Neither does blockading city streets. It just pisses off the punters, because when you gotta get to work you gotta get to work. I mean, all those penguins are cute and shit, but I got a mortgage to pay and I've saved up all year for my trip to Spain, so get out of the fucking road.

I say you still don’t “get it.” I’m not asking for your blessing. I’m not even talking about me, really. What is clear from your statement above is how much you personalize the issue. I can tell you it isn’t a tack that is helping your cause.
