watching life, CBS. The republicans have no new defense, and some are merely babbling on about Trump achievements, not relevant to impeachment. (He fixed things he himself broke.)

I made the mistake of going back and reading the first post on this thread "I thought it is about time we moved on. Election over and lets watch him. I wonder if he can handle the work load?
The question now is can any of us handle his ‘work load’ considering a immature, ego-centric fool has access to that red button.

The real question here is this : how are going to react republican voters disgusted by their senators when then exonerate Trump (and Trump himself) ?

I think they will be the cornerstone of the next election.

Impeached, and now to be 'totally exonerated' by a politically partisan mob who's already decided before reviewing the evidence.

So how long after being 'totally exonerated' do you think it will be before Trump's pocket lawyer Barr raises the idea of impeaching all the representatives for treason or something?

Pelosi's holding back on sending the articles to the Senate until fair rules are hammered out is brilliant. The Dems ought to throw in requiring that the Senate clear the backlog of bills stacked up on McConnell's desk for good measure.

No; it's nonsensical, illegal, corrupt, has no precedent, and would seriously undermine every democratic principle in the U.S.,... which is why I am asking how long before it happens!

they don't need any new defense, a disciplined majority in the senate is plenty enough.

Man, If they hadn't managed to elect that clown in the first place, I'd jeer you a pure absurdity... but since they have , I fear you may be right.

are 12 republican senators enough?

on a more serious note:
it’s quite understandable that none of them want to even hint at removing him.
no one wants to take the abuse.
once the vote is up? stab him in the back with alacrity and they might just discourage wannabes from following his example.

Four more years is nothing. If the GOP refuses to hold Trump accountable then they have set the precedent that any future POTUS can do whatever they want so long as they have 1/3 + 1 Senators from their own party.

So sure, it might be 4 more years of Trump but 2024 might just bring a Dem who mandates universal healthcare and repeals the 2nd amendment by fiat.
