I like a nice smoked kipper. The party in power will be the one that suffers. May knows that.

Not when you control the media, while the media support May she will be fine whatever happens. When they cease to support her it will because the isn't patriotic or right wing enough and whey will want someone even more extreme.

The 'people' will vote or whoever the Daily Mail/Sun tells them to vote for

Luckily The 'people' you mention are not the people as a whole.

The people = 38% spread in in the marginal seats, that ones whose votes actually count in a FPTP system

And these fuckwits would change their vote based on a newspaper?

I think you're confusing newspapers reflecting the views of their readsrship, with changing the views of simpletons you seem to think the voting public are.

Enough if not the majority of the public are simpletons and the real power is with the editors of the tabloid press.

If you fuck with the Daily Mail you will not come out well, not a nice reality but still a a reality. I suggest if Scotland ever goes independent the first thing it should do is ban non-EU ownership of the press and include refugees/foreigners in general in inciting hatred laws to basically make the Daily Mail legally impossible. Screw censorship if you take an anything goes attitude you end up like England
