Indeed. I didn't like the man, but at least he was somewhat media savvy.
We are alive, so the universe must be said to be alive. We are its consciousness as well as our own. We rise out of the cosmos and see its mesh of patterns, and it strikes us as beautiful. And that feeling is the most important thing in all the universe.

You guys are hilarious. So if he goes, UKIP becomes irrelevant and fades away... but if he comes back, UKIP "remains irrelevant" (4 million votes is irrelevant in bizarro world).

FFS. One upside of the election was the resignation of this arse, now I hear the man-of-the people impersonator is back in charge of the swivel eyed xenophobes; give me strength.

Dont worry he will slide once again down the sewer where he belongs and nothing more will be heard of him (except of course when he gets kicked out of a pub).

You read my mind. Still, we have our share of posters here remarking how idiotic the US is compared to the UK. Must we cast our nets wider still?

Well it is possible that 2015 marked the pinnacle of Nige's career and he will begin a decline into obscurity. The same could be said for UKIP, although the party has been steadily gaining support since 1994 and a decline at this point looks unlikely.

What bugs me is how many morons get taken in by the "man of the people" scam Nige is running. As if someone with his money actually had any political ambition beyond screwing the working classes for everything he can get from them.

In-fucking-deed mate, despite his manifesto he has already made it public knowledge how much he'd like to see the NHS scrapped and replaced with a US style private insurance system, because we know how well that works don't we.

He doesn't give a shit about the great masses, and that people think he does betrays their ability to grasp basic facts.

I quite agree. Sadly I think some of the growing UKIP support is not just from long time disaffected tory voters, but there is a new generation of young disaffected voters whose basic lack of grasp of anything, has them buying into UKIP's "blame the immigrants" propaganda and are increasing its support faster than natural wastage gets rid of the tired old racists.

UKIP gets a lot of support from disaffected Labour voters, especially on the xenophobic protectionist left of the party - the Gillian Duffys of the world. Never forget that the Labour Party came into being to protect workers against immigrant labour pushing down wages.

You make it sound like fighting business using cheap imported labour to keep the workers wages down is a bad thing, insinuating it's racist even. Those 'immigrant workers', including two of my grandparents, benefited from that 'protection', just like everybody else.

Yes, the personal opinions of the party founder over 100 years ago are so close to the personal opinions of a party founder today that people can feel equally comfortable in either camp. What a fucking pathetic attempt at trolling.

It's funny how when the people who founded your party split from Labour, it wasn't because of xenophobic nonsense spouted multiple decades ago. So that could suggest that UKIP also attracts yellow tory voters for the very same reason as you imply above.

While I'd agree that UKIP is getting support from disaffected Labour voters, it probably isn't on grounds as sophisticated as this. The simpler reason is that these particular voters are a) poor b) not well educated and c) come from racist backgrounds.
