Well it is possible that 2015 marked the pinnacle of Nige's career and he will begin a decline into obscurity. The same could be said for UKIP, although the party has been steadily gaining support since 1994 and a decline at this point looks unlikely.

What bugs me is how many morons get taken in by the "man of the people" scam Nige is running. As if someone with his money actually had any political ambition beyond screwing the working classes for everything he can get from them.

It amazes me how few on this site can see what a fucking retarded sentiment this is.

Do you think if Farage wanted to "screw the working classes" he would lead a political party through years of being insulted and fighting the system? He could easily have carried on in the city and made millions more.

If Nige had started up a philanthropist movement, I'd see your point.

Few politicians are in it for the money, its a combination of caring (I reckon a higher % of politicians care about other people not related to them than they do in the general public) , power and ego in varying amounts

I suspect with Farage its going to be more the ego

I think you're making a big mistake doubting the sincerity of people who hold views opposite to yours.
I try, usually successfully, not to do that. For example, I find myself, not surprisingly, disagreeing with most of your posts, but I don't doubt your sincerity, and have given several of your posts a thumb up when I have agreed, perhaps not so much here in the politics section, but this forum has plenty of other sections.

I nearly got into a fight with a bloke once when I asked him, (after he said he was from Hartlepool), "have you hanged any monkeys lately?" Met plenty of 'Monkey Hangers' since, but they've all been good sports; I think I caught that guy on a bad day. ;)

I've never seen a shred of evidence that anything other than a tiny % of people are made to prepare to make any real sacrifices for the benefit of others not closely related or friends to themselves

A mother may give their lives for their own children, they are unlikely to give more than £5, £10 etc to comic relief, live aid etc for someone else child especially if they are living in some far off country. Giving that sort of money is not a real sacrifice, its not obviously not an evil act but as a caring act its irrelevant in the larger scheme of things.

There are exceptions we tend to give them medals, we even elect some of them as politicians.

Another good example was the Iraq war, million people or so gave up a day of their free time to march (wow!), why didnt they instead give up their jobs and fly to Baghdad and demonstrate there. No way would NATO have bombed them if they did. Bit drastic what about 10% of your entire income goes to charity (Muslims are meant to do this). If everyone in the 1st world did that there simply wouldn't be a 3rd world. The reason is 10% of your income is worth more to the average person in the street than a few dead children in some god forsaken part of the world.

People need to be realistic about human nature, if something is immediate and local people do care but the less immediate and more distance the less they are interested

UKIP might have managed the impossible a split with a single MP, looks like their only MP is so pissed of with Farage he may resign the whip (can you resign the whip if there are no other MP's to whip you?)

No way is an MP going to take orders from the leader of a party who couldnt even get elected himself, not with UKIP ego's anyway
