Nope - it was 1994, so remembering any details would be n exercise in confabulation. I can't even recall if the toilet seat was wooden or plastic! The incident was written up at the time, and is published, so I should be able to find the report -- and potentially the tape, though whether i actually ever had it remains dubious, though I did inherit most of the groups stuff so theoretically I might have. I will try and look - but I have moved house about ten times since... :(

It had to be Glenn Miller, because that's the only WWII music anyone knows !! (Maybe a bit of Vera as well)

Evidence someone near by is having a laugh with a transmitter? My stereo used to pick up taxi cab calls without being plugged in - I suspect you don;t need power to do that. Also the bit about the volume being quiet s worrying. Still it is an interesting phenomena, but why would the radio only pick up recognisably 40's broadcasts? Why not a bit of Elvis? I'll have a proper look in the morning though :)

I do know a famous ghost story from RAF Montrose though. I'll put it in my next debate post if you want!

Information - meaning - intent

The signal didnt compose itself - the letters on the page are meaningless to the keyboard or the fingers which tapped upon it.

My eyeballs are simply "matter" like the keyboard or the flat screen or the cable. They dont "receive" the signal.
Jeromes signal was initiated by his "volition" his spirit/soul and it was received not by something physical but by something "mental"

If you take away the keyboard and the cables and the screens, thats mental telepathy.

Does anyone doubt that another dimension exists in which information can pass from one entity to another without paper and pen? Physics has proposed 26 dimensions and counting.

Lion (IRC)

If we take away the screen, the telephone, the airborne sound waves, the books or parts of the brain, then we don't find telepathy, we find no communication at all. Why is it not possible to demonstrate 'mental telepathy'?
Why do you think that?

I think it would not be difficult to make it seem that sound was coming from an old radio by placing, an mp3 player nearby. The low sound level would be difficult to locate, the equipment would be easy to conceal and people would naturally assume the source was the very visible radio.

Ghost stories are a great way to get publicity, and it only takes one enterprising individual to do something like that.

Ah, so it's one of those where you have to squint, defocus your eyes, turn your MP3 off, think of a calming experience like sucking at your Mother's breast, and then you will see something?

Yeah I wondered at that - is that a flaccid penis hanging off the front of it? The back of a black rhino? I have stared at this intently for ages and it still just looks like a shadow to me -- though it clearly is NOT a shadow. SO i have no idea what it is, or is supposed to be! j x

Why does it look like the left side handrail is bent at the place where the "not-shadow" is "standing"?

It is, which would create a shadow there -- and there is the key to the mystery. I think that by ramming the contrast up on what was originally a very dark picture you might get this effect.

EDIT: Though reading the link Campermon provides in the original debate post seems ot actually be the fastest way to get to the bottom of the mystery! D'oh!

Campermon, apologies it's taking me so long to respond again - health a bit dodgy and ridiculous amounts of work (well organising a mini-convention - Ars Magica, if anyone knows what that is!) I'll get it in tonight.Sorry! I just sat down to work on it and the Beast Rabban (his internet name, not the Herbert character) appeared at my door - he has come over 100 miles so I must entertain him and write the piece tonight. :( j x

Yep! In early stages -- worryingly -- but this is my third time of organising it so I'm laid back now --- www.grandtribunal.org I write for Ars Magica, Call of Cthulhu, etc, etc. It's pretty dorky I guess!
