WHAT?!?!

They said the Spring! September isn't the Spring! Oh well, I guess that means I can spend the cash I was saving up to buy it on another game.

Bah, now both GTA V and EUIV come out at the same time!

If anyone will make the most out of an extra four months, it would be Rockstar.

Four months is not very long if you think about it, if you have lots of games then it will September before you know it. I have downloaded San Andreas and Vice city from the Playstation network so they will keep me occupied til September. Perhaps I will play GTA IV along with Episodes from Liberty City and try to get 100% competition on them.

I've been avoiding GTAV news for as long as possible but I went on a binge today.

Possibly gameplay at E3 (Hint to PC release too):
http://www.examiner.com/article/gta-5-e3-2013-gameplay-demo-hinted

Might not be release to PS4 or Xbox One:
http://www.n3rdabl3.co.uk/2013/06/no-grand-theft-auto-v-for-xbox-one-and-playstation-4/
Going to call bullshit on this, why would Rockstar not release the most anticipated game for years on the next gen? They aren't going to wait several years for the next title are they?

There's always a chance that GTA VI is already in production at Rockstar for next gen consoles, if GTA IV was in production before San Andreas came out then GTA VI must be in production for the PS4 and XBox One now. Rockstar said they would like to make a GTA game with all the cities that were done previously so what if that game is being made right now or the game engine needed to make it at least?

If they have been making GTA 5 for long enough they wouldn't have a build of it that would work on the new gen, it would be built around the older gen. It would thus cost them a lot of money to rebuild the engine so that it could work on the new gens hardware and make use of its power. It wouldn't surprise me if it does end up on the new gen consoles but only after the game has already launched on the current gen, possibly alongside a late PC release as well.

Only certain parts of the code would target specific hardware though. Its quite possible to write an engine that is intended to run on machines not built yet. You implement techniques that are currently slow to run on current hardware and then the extra horsepower of the future hardware means the frame rates are suitable for real time applications.

Extended development times do occur on some titles including some pretty big ones. Morrowind was in development for 6 years and L.A Noire for 7. Though the later was partly down to poor management and the working conditions for the people who ended up finishing the thing were horrific.

I'm kind of guessing that maybe Microsoft and Sony gave technical details out of their next gen machines a long time ago to the big developers (hence why we will be seeing games at E3)

If you look at a similar game with a close release date which is by Ubisoft "watchdogs" on their Pre-order page on their official website at the bottom they list all of the consoles (I am going to guess that they are their to show which units it will be released upon, I see no other logical reason for them being there)

http://watchdogs.ubi.com/watchdogs/en-gb/purchase/

Also from a marketing perspective I cannot imagine that Rockstar (and other developers) will have spent 5ish years developing their biggest ever GTA which will ship millions of units on the current consoles, to then not take the opportunity to then sell the same game all over again when the next gen consoles come out, more than likely to the same people who bought the same game on current consoles.

Anyway.... yes I am looking forward to the new GTA and I had it pre-ordered as soon as I could. I have little to no interest in any other games that been released recently but for this one I shall be booking a week of work.

Looks like there have been loads of worldwide previews which means ...More details for us!

Three links in the first paragraph give more details.

Reddit user attended a preview and did a Q&A

Character attributes, combat and customisation

Can't wait for the gameplay that will come out of E3 this week.

Is there anyone here who is interested in the pre-order stuff Rockstar are offering like special and collectors editions of the game? I can't believe that if you want the Collector's Edition which is £120 you have to pay £20 on top of it so it's basically a bribe so you can get your copy unless I read it wrong.

Got a copy of GTA5 preordered. Only a few weeks and I can pop it in and go on my very first mountain bike rampage.

That sounds pretty damn epic, almost like a second game. Its own story and large missions like heists and a content editor. Seems to be a expanded version of the Red Dead Redemption online game, something I am looking forward to.

I need friends who will be buying this on the 360. All my 360 friends never end up playing games on it, just watching Netflix or DVDs.
