Pokemon Go.

:D

So this weekend I went to my goth/alt/fetish bar/club and nearly everyone in there out of 75-100 people were playing at some point in the night.

Then when walking back to my car I saw massive groups of people walking downtown excitedly pointing and getting to spots.

Then tonight I went out with my buddy to the nature park across the street from my apartment and we just caught a shit ton of Pokemon and had fun mingling with other Trainers.

I love this game so much. Also this is one of the best low-key fitness apps. I walked 8 km without even realizing I walked that far.

In a UK paper this morning they said a young girl playing it found a dead body. My son is into it but I haven't a clue what it's all about.

Hey, anything that gets people to go outside. Now they need to make one for Shin Megami Tensei demons and I'll be doing the same thing :)

There are ways to use it... I am already level 12 playing since last Thursday

BTW: Classifying Pokémon Go or Ingress (which I have already been playing heavily since 2012) as Video Games is totally wrong. It has to be put into a completely different category of things.

Holy shit I haven't been here in months. OVERWATCH IS LIFE also they just released a SHIT ton of updates to the PTR, including Ana, the new support sniper. Also D.Va buffs which I've been waiting to see for weeks now.

They've just changed the Overwatch competitive mode such that only one of each character can be picked.

Assuming that is per team, rather than per match?

Per team. You can't double up. You can still change character and someone could then take the character you just ditched.

So when Pokemon Go is running smoothly on my Iphone 4s (it tends to crash frequently however) it is amazing. I love how it is connecting so many people.

Yeah but this is bringing out something innocent in all of us....until you get to the team component and gym battles.

Then it is either Team Instinct or all y'all motherfuckers can suck it.

Apart from the social aspect of it, I fail to see what is impressive about Pokemon Go! You walk around, look at your phone and some critter is standing still, weirdly floating in all sorts of places, not even proper augmented reality where they'd be sitting on objects or their placement would be affected by them. One's in a car and on their phone there is some grassy land where the creature is, even though they're in a car. It's not impressive. I cannot understand the hype. Good that it gets all sorts of people involved and socializing and walking a bit, but as a game...it's not even a game. There's barely anything to it and the augmented reality aspect is weak.

Hahahaha! The Government office building where I work is a Pokémon Gym. I wonder how long before management issue an email about this. Also security going mental shooing teenagers out the carpark is going to be hilarious fun.

You can switch in the app between this mode where you see pre-rendered environments or have a mode where catching the Pokémon actually happens with your live Camera image in the background.

I've never taken any interest into this Pokemon thing, and I'm not starting now.
This Pokemon Go thing would have been so neat coupled with augmented reality glasses though.
