NASA's next big announcement coming up!

#1  Postby tnjrp » Nov 30, 2010 12:49 pm

Well, they've not found the smoking gun yet but it still sounds interesting enough. One just has to wonder how much "cosmic neighborhood" they've put in their "impact" this time around

NASA will hold a news conference at 2 p.m. EST on Thursday, Dec. 2, to discuss an astrobiology finding that will impact the search for evidence of extraterrestrial life

Evidence for life on Mars in the past, maybe? This sort of shit makes me want to clap my hands and go "Hur hur hur" like some sort of retarded seal. Love it.

Well, they certainly don't promise actual evidence of life, past or present... I'm not preparing to break out the bubbly for this.

Well, until we see what they have to say... Last one was a lot of smoke and mirrors. I wonder if people at NASA have hired JT as their PR officer? "We are very excited..."

I do though hope that it is something good.

Afaik, I believe it's about detected life on one of Saturn's moons, specifically Titan.

Update: According to Alexis Madrigal, the answer to the hyperbolic question in the headline is "no".

Is it geeky that I was hoping that the announcement was a new timetable for the next orbiter?
