Nice of richard e grant to put in an appearance, for people who like that sort of thing.

Did no one else notice Essie Davis?

Well, my 14 year old son and I loved it. I am actually pretty impressed with this season, I thought I might be bored with it, but I am finding it actually better than I expected by a good degree.

I thought the Hodor thing was very clever and used backwards foreshadowing really well. But then I also think that the show has taken over the story, and if martin is smart (besides being a millionaire off the back of it) he will just let Benioff et al do his work for him.

Sansa is coming into her own and was given to Ramsay as a gift by Littlefinger, why on earth would she trust him again in anything?

All in all, I am very pleased with this series, the amount and quality of story versus violence and tits, it's all working for me.

Also Ani, my son loved your graphic.

So did Euron Greyjoy have a hand in burning Daenerys's fleet in Meereen? Rather convenient if his plan was always to seduce her with his big... ships.

Prediction: Littlefinger always intended to back the Bolton's and betray Sansa and Jon when they go to attack Winterfell. Even now, after Sansa rebuffed him, she took his suggestion to summon the Tully's for aid. He will use his army from the Vale to eliminate the Tullys as they march to Sansa's aid at Winterfell.

Well, technically, we didn't see him die, just get scratched up a bit.

So you never know; maybe after the camera cut away he single-handedly defeated the white walkers and their army, and we'll never hear of them again. Later in the series he'll turn up and make passing reference to how he saved Westeros and Essos without the need for dragons, Targaryen blood, Valyrian steel, dragon glass, gods, or magic.

"Hodor."

Nah, he's dead. It's interesting however that Bran can timetravel and shape things for himself… the ultimate superpower… sorry Daenerys… Here comes Bran! (Bran -> Iron Throne)

If time travel gets introduced as a plot device I think I will actually throw up. It is the worst gimmick. The ONLY use of it I thought was clever was in Piers Anthony's novels.

That would make me wonder if Shamalan was writing the show. Or George Lucas.

Honestly though, the plot device that pisses me off the most is resurrection. I was really disappointed when Catelyn got resurrected in the books, but I'm glad GRRM at least made it clear (as he did with Dondarrion) that they don't come back the same. But the resurrection of Jon was totally lame.

If you force yourself to do time-travel right, avoiding paradox/contradiction in favour of mere benign circularities as we had with Hodor, then it comes with such heavy constraints that you can't really use it as a plot-device.
