#1  Postby Mononoke » Dec 28, 2011 4:47 pm

I'm in the mood for a good american comedy series. I'v seen friends and i don't like it. I'm watching 30 rock & it's brilliant. Can people give me some recommendations & tell me what shows they like the best.

The latest series has gotten a little tired though.

Curb Your Enthusiasm. Often in poor taste and full of excruciatingly awkward situations. :dopey:

The Americans haven't learnt yet what the British (mostly) learned years ago which is to end a show while it's still good. Instead they try milk it for everything. I don't watch the latest Simpsons, Scrubs or Family Guy though I'll usually watch the older ones when repeated.
At the moment I'm enjoying Breaking Bad.

I'll second Modern Family, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Arrested Development. Big Bang Theory is also pretty good. As is The Middle and Malcolm in the Middle.

No votes for Raising Hope?

I'll vote for it. I'm not a huge fan of the son (or dad) but I think the parents (or grandparents) are hilarious. I prefer Garcia's other show, My Name is Earl.

Most of the programmes mentioned here are barely amusing to me. You guys have to have some hidden gems out there. Something off the main network. C'mon, don't be holding out on me. I know you must have something more than these feel good sitcoms.

The Big Bang Theory.

I don't watch it myself (aside from a few episodes and clips) but my father loves it. From what I've seen, it's pretty damn funny; and not in a cheesy sort of way.

You seen Weeds Ani? It's pretty much Breaking Bad-lite.

I haven't seen it yet. I might give it a look.

Do you have anything like Kids in the Hall any more?

Ahem, that would be Canadian...
