I honestly feel at this stage that Trump could whip out his cock and piss off the stage, onto the crowds below, and they'd stretch out their arms and open their mouths and guzzle rapturously.

Seems plausible... they've certainly been gobbling up the shit he vomits.

The brown arm tactics:

Rex Tillerson named as Donald Trump's secretary of state

Senators from Republican and Democratic parties have raised concerns about ExxonMobil chief’s close ties to Vladimir Putin

Rex Tillerson, the president and chief executive of ExxonMobil, has been officially named as Donald Trump’s choice for secretary of state, setting up a potential confirmation fight in the Senate.

Senators from both parties have raised concerns about his lack of experience and close ties to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

Trump hailed Tillerson as “among the most accomplished business leaders and international deal makers in the world” in a statement released on Tuesday morning by his transition team.

“His tenacity, broad experience and deep understanding of geopolitics make him an excellent choice for secretary of state,” Trump said. “He will promote regional stability and focus on the core national security interests of the United States.”

The announcement of the oil executive for the role of top diplomat comes after a selection process that considered figures including the former presidential candidate Mitt Romney and the former CIA chief David Petraeus.

Tillerson’s confirmation hearings are likely to be a bitter and emotional struggle. He is a recipient of Moscow’s Order of Friendship, having grown close to Putin and his circle while working on oil exploration in Russia, which was frozen when the US imposed sanctions in 2014.

He may also face questions from senators over the potential benefits to ExxonMobil from US foreign policy if sanctions imposed on Russia after its annexation of Crimea were lifted.

Trump Goes Into Hiding And Cancels Press Conference As Russia Investigation Gains Momentum

President-elect Donald Trump has canceled his first press conference since winning the election as calls grow for a bipartisan investigation into whether or not the Russian government interfered in the 2016 contest.

Bloomberg reported:

President-elect Donald Trump is postponing until next month a previously announced news conference to outline how he’ll handle his far-flung business operations while in the White House, according to senior Trump transition officials.

Trump had planned to make the announcement Dec. 15 but wants more time because he’s been occupied with filling out his cabinet and top administration posts, according to the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. He’s preparing to reveal his choice for secretary of state as soon as Tuesday, they said.

EC votes on 19th.... wants to wait until after that, I imagine, before putting the big red bow on the country and presenting it to Putin for a belated Christmas.

If it hadn't been clear, so far that Trump's reaction to climante change is just "fuck off", appointing an oil company CEO at this position clearly shows that his political choices will led by oil interests. It's more scary to me than the guy's link to Putine.

Not to my knowledge. It appears unlikely anything will happen investigation-wise until after inauguration.

There isn't much cause to think he won't be elected by the EC, but there have been one or two outspoken electors expressing an interest in voting contrary to their position. Could end up with Pense as president. Not sure which would be worse.

It is unprecedented for the EC not to vote as expected (a few individuals have, but didn't alter the outcome). Theoretically, trump could fail EC confirmation, but it would take some extraordinary event, revealed scandal, treason etc to hope for such an outcome... between now and the 19th. After that, it would be left to a republican congress to impeach. So, get used to the idea of at least two years of trump.

He would have to be approved by congress, I believe just the Senate, but technically yes.

In practice, the presidential nominee of the respective parties, selects their "running mate", or candidate for VP. This is referred to as the "ticket." In the general election, we vote for pres/vp as a joint vote. However, that vote is technically only to vote for the EC that is pledged to vote for the Pres. As far as I'm aware, the law actually states that the EC votes for president and VP separately, but they have always (to my knowledge) honored the presidential nominee since the law was reformed (12th Amendment). In theory, the EC could elect HRC as VP. Could you imagine?

Specifically, there are ten electors who are taking legal action to try to free their votes. One is a Trump elector; the other nine are Clinton electors.
