We will access, disclose and preserve personal data, including your content (such as the content of your emails, other private communications or files in private folders), when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary to.

Interesting. Can you show us the actual Microsoft document this comes from? I can't seem to find it.

The EULA, which appears during the Windows 10 setup, can also be read after the fact by clicking "Settings" in the Start menu, selecting "System" and then choosing the "About" option on the left. Clicking the link "Read the Microsoft Software License Terms" brings up the EULA.

The bit in brackets was put in there by the author deliberately to mislead, probably due to some agenda. As I've said, the article I posted a few pages ago has dealt with this.

Here is what it actually says

Reasons We Share Personal Data
We share your personal data with your consent or as necessary to complete any transaction or provide any service you have requested or authorized. We also share data with Microsoft-controlled affiliates and subsidiaries; with vendors working on our behalf; when required by law or to respond to legal process; to protect our customers; to protect lives; to maintain the security of our services; and to protect the rights or property of Microsoft.

When are those coming out? I had 8.1 on notebook and was under impression MS would alert me of free upgrade deadline and either I missed the alert or there was none, so I upgraded "manually" just few days ago. That is why I posted the side note, for other ignorants like me :)

You'll have a long wait. Windows 10 was the last version, they'll just be providing updates for it from hereon in.

Yes that was a good catch! I had thought (naively) that by only bolding the header in large print and adding the link directly below it that no one would have a hope in hell of discovering my obvious ruse and my blatant attempt to hide that information to further my conspiracy agenda.

And speaking of that ‘good catch’; reading it (from a contract law POV) should send shivers up one’s spine, unless of course, one’s personal data is already an open book.

Puppy says he got what he posted from the link he provided.

Here's what he said.
